December 5, 2025. PGK (Cncl 1622) Dave Satterfield had lunch today with SK Bill Schenkel, former member of St. John's Council 1622 and Bishop McNamara 4th Degree Assembly 384, at Tom & Ray's Family Restaurant in Damascus, MD.
Br. Bill transferred out of Cncl 1622 and Assy 384 when he bought a townhouse in Damascus, MD in the late 1990s. While here in Frederick, Bill served as Financial Secretary for Council 1622 from Jan 1993 through Jun 1999, 6-1/2 years. He also served as Comptroller for Assy 384 from July 1992 through June 1997, 5 years, two really big and often thankless jobs, so thank you Bill. Bill suffered a fall earlier this year on his condo steps at age 75 and has mostly recovered, but is still walking slowly with a cane.
