Council newsletter for January/February 1996.
Worthy Grand Knight's Report: I'd like to wish all Brothers and their families a very merry Christmas and happy new year. Growth in Frederick County is bringing many changes and opportunities. Our District 18 has been divided into two districts. The spin off from us of two new parish councils at Middletown and Brunswick will help us refocus our service activities to our Parishes, the center point of Catholic life. I look forward to working with you all this year in joint service to our Catholic community. Sincerely, Joseph Brashears
HOME CORPORATION PRESIDENT'S REPORT (January 1996):
Many thanks to Br. Bob Weedon for the work he did as past President. We regret his inability to continue due to physical limitations. We have listed the building for sale since it's location, size, and physical state does not meet our long term needs and it presents a major financial burden.
I, Dave Satterfield, will act as overall building coordinator. I need two or three primary building managers to lead efforts for the kitchen, building maintenance, and building repair. Please call me at 695-9633.
Br. Jim Dowell will manage the bar and needs four to six bar tenders for meetings and special events. Please call Jim at 662-5946.
The building needs some painting and repair to continue to meet our short term needs, improve it's general appearance and get ready for our Lenten Fish Fry which starts in February. The recent repair of pigeon holes in the eaves is a good first step, goodbye pigeons. We will conduct building maintenance and repair days on the second Monday of each month (1/8, 2/12, etc) at 6:00 pm (pizza and drinks provided). For the Lenten Fish Fry, we'll need extra painting days on alternate Saturdays, 1/13, 1/27, and 2/10 at 10:00 am. Please pitch in and bring your painting gear and tools.
Dave Satterfield, Incoming President
